Indie beauty conversation with Nourishing Biologicals
3 Mar 2022 --- Nourishing Biologicals, the formula-focused brand that concentrates on clean ingredients, has launched its inaugural male skin care range. We spoke to Founder and Chief Medical Director Dr George Sadowski about the brand, its entry into the male market and its plans for 2022 and beyond.
What inspired you to create your first men's skin care line?
Nourishing Biologicals was born from a passion to create clean, clinically proven and sustainable products that treat the cause, not just the symptoms, to advance health and wellness for all.
For us men it's personal as we have experienced disappointment from products that just didn’t deliver. The real reason for this is that most men’s products don’t even contain ingredients that have been clinically proven to work. Because of this, we have specifically formulated clinical-grade products for men that can protect and rescue skin health regardless of the environmental conditions at work.
What influenced your decision to launch the line initially with a face serum and moisturizer?
Our Face Serum and Men’s Moisture Defense were inspired and clinically designed as a duo to first stop the damage by free radicals and to bring back skin health by supplying nutrients that the skin needs. Most are not aware that most skin conditions are due to the loss of skin health, while healthy skin is beautiful skin regardless of the skin type you’re in.
What was missing from the male skin care markets that you have sought to fill?
Even though the pandemic slowed down our day-to-day activities, one of the things that didn't slow down was the continued interest in the importance of skin care and the rise of at-home men's grooming.
Rather than letting themselves go, men have explored and focused to take care of their skin more than in the past. This fits into the continual evolution of self-care as men embrace more things related to health and wellness.
As a result, men are finding value in skin care products that go beyond the traditional male grooming of shaving and fragrance. As we all age, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging find their way. Our products were designed to target the damage and help the skin self-heal with nutrients that count.
What are male skin care consumers demanding from their products?
Men, like everyone else, are looking for products that can make a difference. They notice the damage from environmental exposure or the effects of aging and want something to help. All our ingredients are clinically proven. In addition, our products were tested by an outside clinical lab to prove that they work. In fact, the results were published in the nationally recognized Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology.
How does Natural Biologicals strive to answer these demands with its new line?
Living in an age where climate change, deforestation, toxic chemicals and animal cruelty are present, it is no surprise that all of our products lead down the path of responsibility and sustainability. We are a bioscience company guided by a shared sense of purpose to help people achieve lasting health and vitality with clean, sustainable and clinically proven products that treat the cause, not the symptoms.

How did you come up with the idea for your range of products? What was the process from conceptualization to commercialization?
Being a bioscience company that goes beyond cosmetic skin care, the science behind the concept requires our products to stop the damage and then heal the skin. The selected ingredients stop inflammation by blocking inflammatory pathways. Additional ingredients stabilize elements deep in the skin, increase collagen production and downregulate enzymes that cause blotchy discolorations.
Our products penetrate deeply into the skin, regenerating the body’s first line of defense against bacteria, viruses and harsh environmental elements. We harness the transformative power of dermal delivery which works at the molecular level, triggering cellular activity, cell growth and the skin’s resilient renewal. We have clinical-grade products that you can buy and apply yourself and see the effects. That way you are in charge and can control the way your skin will feel and look.
Who is the range's target audience?
The target age range for our products is 30-plus when skin aging becomes noticeable. The skin is as important as any other organ system and needs care. We aim to educate men on the importance of taking care of their skin.
What are your plans for the line in 2022?
We are always on the lookout for new ingredients and new technologies that are clinically proven to help the skin. We are excited about this as progress continues.
