Lancer Skincare launches virtual dermatology shop
9 Dec 2021 --- Bringing together the worlds of dermatology and personalized digital consumer experiences, Lancer Skincare is partnering with ByondXR to create a 3D rendering of its renowned dermatology clinic and, with it, an immersive shopping experience for skin care consumers.
Striving to optimize the retail experience by creating real-life stores and showrooms in virtual environments, ByondXR enables consumers to browse products online via its customizable 3D platform and photorealism.
“ByondXR is one of the most rapidly growing virtual tech startups and, as the metaverse is newly growing, we wanted to partner with them to create this first of its kind virtual dermatology shop,” says Tracey Sameyah, CEO of Lancer Skincare. “With only one physical exclusive location in Beverly Hills, we wanted to provide consumers the opportunity to enter into our universe, have an engaging and educational experience with our brand and lead them to discover skin care products that will help them see real results.”
Lancer has centered its efforts on launching a virtual dermatology shop to reflect consumer demands for digital skin care selections and access to products. “Digital retail and experiential activations have been on the rise over the past several years, and this trend has only been sped up in the midst of the pandemic,” shares Sameyah. “By creating a virtual dermatology shop, we are able to welcome customers from around the world into our dermatology clinic, from the comfort and safety of their own devices, including those that might want to see Dr. Lancer in person but may have cost or travel limitations.”
The company aims to help customers learn more about their skin so they can feel confident that they are purchasing the best products for their concerns. “Every consumer should have access to a credible knowledge base for skin health information in order to receive the best skin care experience, and the new virtual store provides that for customers,” says Sameyah.
Sharing what US customers are demanding from their skin care brands and products, Sameyah highlights: “Consumers are looking for credible knowledge for skin health, personalized product recommendations and accessibility. Through this virtual experience, consumers are able to experience an engaging and educational experience that offers the chance to discover new products and expertise from Dr. Lancer, despite geographical limits.”
Creating regimens of the future
The virtual dermatology store will offer a variety of immersive features, such as a skin quiz that includes an avatar of Dr. Lancer and provides product recommendations upon entry. Customers will then be directed to a shoppable product wall before being redirected to Lancer Skincare's website to complete their purchases. There will also be a media section with brand videos along with beauty and skin care tips from Dr. Lancer and Lancer Skincare’s brand ambassador, Candace Cameron Bure.
On how the company’s digital expansion ties in with its wider strategy, particularly as we head into 2022, Sameyah shares: “We want to continue enhancing our services so that everyone can experience the Lancer brand. The virtual store allows anyone, regardless of their ability to visit the Lancer clinic in person, the opportunity to be welcomed into our environment to learn more about our products and services.”
Dedicated rooms will be incorporated into the virtual space in early 2022 which will address specific skin care concerns, host virtual customer events and provide additional immersive experiences for shoppers.
“Lancer Skincare is innovative, agile and inclusive, and this new experience is aimed at inspiring and engaging our customers in customizing their skin care regimen,” says Sameyah. “We believe that every consumer should have access to credible knowledge for skin health and personalized product recommendations, and our new virtual store will provide that for customers.”
In the rapidly-growing e-commerce market, ByondXR's immersive virtual experiences aim to provide a solution that enables consumers to shop online, giving beauty customers a way to make more personalized connections with brands.
“It is a true honor to work with Dr. Lancer and his team at Lancer Skincare,” says Noam Levavi, CEO at ByondXR. “Their vision of personalizing a virtual experience with Lancer Skincare for any client at any place and time is ingenious, and introduces dermatology-based skin care to the Metaverse for the first time.”
Commenting on the brand’s pivotal move online, Dr. Lancer shares: “I have been dedicated to developing effective treatments to keep people looking their best throughout my career and with the Lancer Skincare virtual store, customers will be able to benefit from a consultation without having to travel to my office. We want to create an inviting and innovative space that encourages them to start a better skin routine and leave the experience having learned something valuable.”
